Nancy I. M. Morgan, Ph.D.

Ms. Morgan specializes in project coordination, grant writing, government relations and community development.

From 2001 to late 2007, Ms. Morgan served as Executive Director of the Cane River National Heritage Area in Natchitoches, LA. In that capacity, she worked with cultural groups, non-profit organizations, and government entities at the local, state, and federal levels. In 2007, the City of Natchitoches and Cane River National Heritage Area were honored with the Preserve America Presidential Award for Heritage Tourism. She is a member of the Board of Directors for the Alliance of National Heritage Areas and served as an officer of that organization for six years. She is currently an officer on the board of the non-profit organization Heritage Development Partnership.

Ms. Morgan received her B.A. in History and Sociology/Anthropology from Colgate University, N.Y. and her M.A. and Ph.D. in Anthropology from Tulane University, LA. She was a Watson Fellow to Mexico and Central America in 1993, and a Fulbright Fellow to Guatemala in 1999.
