Norfolk, Virginia is a great port city that has played a pivetal role in the history and defense of the United States. It has long been host to the world's largest naval base. However, Norfolk today is much more than a navy town - it is the cultural, institutional and social epicenter of Virginia's Tidewater/Hampton Roads region.
Lees | Dawson Associates was part of a multidisciplinary group of consultants that helped change the image of the city. The team focused on the interrelationship of urban desing, brand development, reprogramming the city allocations and tourist assets, development strategy, marketing and citizen communcations. As brand identity consultants, our specific tasks were to help create a new identity for the city that reflected not only its past and present qualities, but also its vision of the future; to develop a wayfinding directional system and to help integrate the promotion of Norfolk's cultural and tourist attractions.
